She made herself seem like the "real Sunrae" and told Moonlite that Catnap was the cause of her death, fueling Moonlite's rage and giving Shadow-rae more power. After escaping captivity, Moonlite kills her minis unknowingly, giving Shadow-rae more of a true form.

Moonlite doesn't remember much about Sunrae after their deaths and lost a lot of her memories with Sunrae. All she remembers about her is that they were in love and the influence of the prototype got her killed. But after she was captured and proved to be a danger, Shadow-rae came to her.
