Vash's amputated arms floats in a red glowing vat. Wolfwood is injected with serum and becomes a demon. He signs a contract to protect the orphanage. Wolfwood meets Vash on the bus. They share experiences, Wolfwood sees they're not so different, shades of gray stained with red (scars and blood.) Wolfwood and Vash run to shade and have a heart to heart about what they're doing this all for over of a water canteen. Vash answers from a better tomorrow for everyone and that includes Wolfwood. Asked the same question, Wolfwood gives the same answer, their hands touching. Wolfwood saves Vash. In a realization knowing his time has come, he has to leave reluctantly. Vash and Wolfwood embrace, wings out falling over the cliff.
