"mr. b" is an ugly caricature of a type of person whose existence and influence *is* analytically significant. i think we need to sit in our discomfort about the spectre of the rotten egg.

i have seen it suggested that "the trans community" is actually "the transitioning community". i do not agree with this fully. i have inhabited spaces where people have figuratively "aged out". this framing is applicable to my own experiences/patterns.

plugged into trans twitter/reddit since 2009. finally came out in 2018. very strictly stealth online and irl since 2020. seeing this thread motivated me to make an alt so i can start participating in these discussions again.

cis folks on here should have their feeds replaced by a trans person’s for a day. they’d see the fear, the anguish, the hopelessness of a community that is tired, broke, starving, and desperate for a shred of human decency in a world that wants to end us.
