Definitely measure multiple times, over a few days. Avoid measuring too soon after a hot shower. MM does sell a set of plastic rings for easy base ring measuring. And it comes with a solid guide for the other measuring.
Then you can get resin "test" cages from BAWR. Wish they sold those sooner

My MM is steel, and the BAWR is titanium. It's noticeably lighter, and more comfortable. Overall I think build quality and customization are better at BAWR.
It's not in the pic above, but my Evotion Orion has confidently taken top spot for me though.
Costs about as much as a BAWR tho...
