This "Octopus tree" (also known as the Council Tree, the Monstrosity Tree, and the Candelabra Tree) at Cape Mears, Tillamook, OR is a 250-300 year old Sitka spruce. Native Americans trained it into this fantastic, cage-like assortment of thick, vertical trunks.
