I don’t really think the point of the labor movement should be that no one can ever be fired for anything. Even if you took the racism out of it, she yelled at a customer? People do usually get fired for that?

Yeah, I don’t read this as being about asceticism- the reality is that in the not too distant future we probably won’t be drinking a lot of coffee :(

I have scripted ads in my head for my Fit. A car salesman at a Honda dealership begged for me to sell it to him. I think it’s a travesty that it was discontinued because they weren’t making high enough margins on it. I will drive mine until it disintegrates.

My tricks are: 1) joy of cooking recipe 2) double the spices and 3) make it the night before- some kind of alchemy happens when the pie sits overnight, just a million times better

Also, how often do you see entrenched incumbents around? It’s easy to underestimate how old they are- Norton was delegate when I was in *elementary* school but I was still surprised reading she’s 87

One time I was at a Nats game and George will was sitting next to me keeping score, but he left in the seventh when the Nats were down and they came back to win it in the ninth. It was extra great since he didn’t get to experience it!
