I like it better when the character is trans and that's who they are. You can have a conversation about their backstory, but have as a well written explanation of who they are, instead of just having a whole big thing about what a trans person is.

From what I've observed, it's less a problem of having woke content, it more about if said content is too apparent and preachy. Like I'm fine if a character is trans, but you don't need to remind me of that every second, or make a big speech of it. (Same with autistic characters, honestly)

Yeah it's kinda muddled. I understand the take she's saying, but it needed better wording. As someone who plans on a future with creative writing, I choose my words carefully so I can get my message across correctly.

That makes sense yeah, the take wasn't exactly worded correctly. But we are in a age of people getting a bit too invested into fictional characters, like Homelander. Let's not forget the people who related to Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty when that show was big.
