Councils are finalising budgets for next year. Core spending power is up but challenges vary by area, and many council budgets will rely on maximum council tax rises. What is your council prioritising and what can UNISON do to make sure jobs & services are properly funded?

The Pathways to Planning scheme is a positive step to step to bring new talent into local authority planning. But we must also keep experienced planners in the sector. Retention matters as much as recruitment. #LocalGov #Planning #UNISON

Unions representing 1.4 million workers are calling for a wage rise of at least £3,000 to tackle soaring workloads and rising costs.

The temporary accommodation funding gap is out of control.

LGA analysis shows councils face £3 billion shortfall to keep vulnerable families off the streets.

Government must provide urgent funding to tackle homelessness. Councils can't do this alone.
