Nice thought, and sorry to be negative but it does kind of gloss over the problems he's supposed to be working on, does it not?

And so they somehow FORCED Hamas to invade?
November 30, 2024 at 8:31 PM
I guess she won't be selling any tickets to her show in NZ.
Poor Candace!
Did she already book the venue, and now she can't go on stage?
LOL

You said Israel killed the hostages. Did you mean Hamas?
November 30, 2024 at 8:02 PM
It would certainly put more political pressure on Israel to end it if they released the hostages.
Why do you think they have not done so?
It doesn't seem to be buying them anything to keep them.
Unless of course they're already dead and Hamas doesn't want to let that be known.
Lose-Lose for Hamas?
November 30, 2024 at 7:58 PM
If Hamas cares about Gazans, maybe they should consider releasing the hostages?
.. oh wait, .. they don't.

If you substitute the word "bureaucracy" for democracy in their slogans, it makes a lot more sense.

People might switch beer brands.
What do you think Mexico thinks of that?
Or are we more worried that Mexico will stop buying our products?
IOW, who is in the stronger bargaining position?
Is there anybody there at CNN who is allowed to publish an objective analysis of that for us backwoods rubes?

Your accusation against me couldn't be more wrong.
Think what you want. Enact your bill. Evaluate the results.
Good luck.
November 30, 2024 at 7:27 PM
What were his accomplishments?
Most people I know can't name any - they just didn't want Trump.
November 30, 2024 at 7:11 PM
Can you list what your mistakes were?
Perhaps you are only doing what everybody else is doing.
Most people mistakenly think the messaging was wrong.
It's the IDEAS that were soundly rejected: open borders & reckless spending leading to inflation that is harming the working class but not the wealthy.
November 30, 2024 at 7:09 PM
No - you HOPE the bill will end that. But experience indicates it probably won't. See Holland for example.
Some people opt for suicide, but most people want support and pain management.
It's wrong to offer them suicide instead, as it is always an implicit suggestion - ESP for those without family.
November 30, 2024 at 7:00 PM
Throughout history we have sought to alleviate suffering through pain management.
Today we have better pain management than we have ever had.
There is nothing undignified about suffering if it is unavoidable.
I have been at the bedside of dying loved ones.
They need comfort, not offers of suicide.
November 29, 2024 at 5:54 PM
False framing: Terminally ill people can already end their lives if that's what they want, and some already do.
What this kind of legislation does is involve doctors in the process, making "suicide" into a bona fide medical treatment.
Is that really what we want? It certainly is not what I want.
November 29, 2024 at 5:50 PM
It's a terrible idea. The guardrails are almost meaningless.
People can and do already have the ability to kill themselves if that's what they want.
Making doctors complicit in this has been known to be a bad idea since the Hippocratic oath in the 5th century BC.
It will and has already been abused.
November 29, 2024 at 5:41 PM
I understand your audience is basically Trump-haters, but shouldn't your second paragraph say "ALLEGED attempt to overturn the 2020 election" ?
I mean, that's the question the case seeks to answer, no?
I just think it might help project a perception of objectivity if you think that might be helpful.
November 26, 2024 at 10:47 PM
As you will. But the reason media is in a ratings spiral is precisely that y'all do not listen to regular people. Filter criticism however you wish of course, but filtering too much of it out results in .. well, kind of where we are all at now: 2 sides who don't understand each other very well.
