I thought it was odd, too. Just looked Joshua up on Wikipedia and found this fascinating career highlight. Surely the Telegraph doesn’t edit stuff in this way...?

XG football stats, eh? What’s the point? Ipswich’s xG was below QPR’s for pretty much the entire game. This is how it finished. QPR most likely to score. Except Ipswich won 4-1.

Box full of these in the garage. Hold or sell?

Great letter in the Guardian today. Yes - it really is that simple.

Isn’t it about time that Premier Inn got a new face for its advertising? Using a Knight of the Realm “doesn’t reflect our society”!

An ad (100%white, BTW!) from today’s Observer. Since when did JP Morgan become a skills charity?

Tightening up. They’ll probably close the poll at 48:52

The BBC struggling with ‘balance’ here. “Unproven”??!! Suggests it might be true. What’s wrong with “false”? Or “ignorant”?

Nice, but used before 👇

Nice. I’d forgotten this. Maybe Blair should be asked about it next time he’s on #r4today

WTF!? Never mind cozying-up to Trump, what’s the Priest of “business as usual” doing claiming it as something to celebrate? He’s picked the wrong type of unusual to laud.

Kudos to Inverness’ Eden Court for this timely programming

This letter in the Guardian is spot on. You’ll struggle to find this basic understanding of large, complex organisations in any MBA programme. And therein lies an important factor in this country’s malaise.

Meta ‘AI’ generates endless amusing queries. Hours of fun. But it does raise a question in my mind: do LLMs ‘get’ humour? Or do they take everything literally? FB’s bot completely misses this Viz post.

While watching the fascist Yank on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social denying any opposition to Netanyahu’s within Israel itself, I see this from an Israeli friend in Israel right now.

Further evidence from today’s Guardian. Automated customer ‘service’ is a good example of technology making things a lot less efficient. Maybe more efficient for firms (although I’m not convinced)… but hugely less efficient for customers/clients and, therefore, for society and the economy as a whole

On the BBC website, but strangely missing from the News at 10.

And, you’re not going to believe this… but the minister who doesn’t understand mutualisation is a member of the Co-operative Party!!!

Fundamental flaw in Kettle’s argument: “Starmer’s answer does not measure up to the problem that confronts him. It is facile to say that this failing can simply be explained by lack of ideological purity…”

Except it can.

Neoliberal capitalism is the root of the problem. ‘Reform’ is not enough.

We’re really not very good at this, are we? How about a clear structure of qualifications - Certificates and Diplomas, say - delivered by well-funded FE Colleges, and supported with proper apprenticeships?
