Found it. So this $17 million reduction is a complete fabrication. In truth, FD was budgeted at least $35 million MORE in 24/25 than 23/24.

That’s BEFORE noting the decrease in operational was largely for one-offs and not including big 4-year salary increase which was planned.

Just so we’re clear what just happened:

Republicans tore apart their funding agreement with Democrats after Elon Musk told them to.

They created a new bill that defunded child cancer research.

And then they failed to pass that bill too.

Big congratulations to Republicans on their first big victory of the Trump era: empowering President Musk to strip funding for childhood cancer research out of the budget.

It sucks that people get so bewildered when you express how upsetting it is after they start going down conspiracy rabbit holes, because there’s like a 50% chance they’ll be a full-blown nutcase in less than 6 months.

Thank God Merrick Garland waited nearly 2 years to appoint Jack Smith because, after all, nothing is more important than preventing the optics of politicization.

Remember, the whole point of activism is to translate, ultimately, into policy. And policy is determined by lawmakers, who depend on your vote to get elected.

Nothing else matters if you don't participate in the system.
