It’s a cross between the film Strictly Ballroom and a UK TV show called Come Dancing, which used to televise competitive ballroom dancing. (At least I think that’s what it was, I never watched it and it hasn’t been on since the 90s.) But we just call it Strictly these days!

It makes me laugh that Strictly Come Dancing became such a popular show when it started out with a name that makes absolutely no sense outside the UK.

You know what? As long as you can read a physical book, do it. Savour it. I have some eyesight problems and the accessibility features of ebooks mean I can keep reading (which is wonderful) but God, I miss just going into a library or bookshop, browsing and choosing a real book.

I agree - I just wish they’d followed through and included at least a line in DS9 saying “oh yeah, we broke up” before he got together with Dax.

There’s nothing like watching two cis men struggle to work out what the “trans debate” is even about on Sunday morning TV. It happens with depressing regularity.

I was also disappointed that Polanski don’t correct him. I’m not sure if Phillips’ question confused him because it was so unbelievably stupid or if in that minute he forgot that trans men exist. Maybe both.

(Trevor Phillips comes out with some real political stinkers on a regular basis but I’m under the impression that in this case he genuinely didn’t get it. The level of basic journalistic competence we have in the UK at the moment is appalling.)

Ffs this is a journalist with his own Sunday morning show and the leader of a political party who is a trans ally and they still miss the point! How the hell is any average person who isn’t particularly clued in to what’s happening to trans people ever going to make sense of it if these two can’t?
