Dannatt says he hopes his 56 yrs of service will be taken into consideration. I have and find it more appalling that in the twilight of his career he decided to sellout Britain for personal gain. Both should go to prison not be slapped on the wrists. These crimes are for personal gain; disgusting

11/ Gill was close to Nigel Farage, a trusted colleague and a senior figure both in Ukip/Brexit party and Reform. The Met police says Farage was not interviewed and there's no suggestion he took bribes / is linked to Gill's case. They say investigations into other unspecified politicians are ongoing

8/ In these messages Voloshyn asks Gill to arrange for three MEPs to make "comments on camera". He mentions ex-Ukip/Brexit party MEPs Jonathan Arnott and David Coburn. There's no suggestion Arnott & Coburn took bribes, knew about Voloshyn, or agreed to this particular proposal

4/ As a fiercely independent news platform, we believe it's important that the public can access the detail of the case. And now we are publishing our timeline online. It details all of Gill's charges and related activity, including this one:

3/ We gave this timeline of evidence, the charges and context out outside court. No one had heard of Gill. Of course, it's hard for stories to cut through. But it's made harder when only 2 papers - Guardian & Mirror - mention the conviction/story on their front page & only one prints Gill's picture🙄

WhatsApps reveal Gill sought to recruit other Brexit/Reform MEPs to make pro-Kremlin statements and that Gill’s handler took orders from Viktor Medvedchuk, a close Putin ally. It's a complex, detail-heavy story. So we went back to journalism's roots and made a pamphlet to hand out at the Old Bailey.

I’m not a fan of “saving 600m” when they were making crazy profits the train companies have agreed to this bcoz they know the majority want them nationalised. It’s a pr move otherwise they’d reduce fares and take less profit.
