Finished the waistcoat August 13th, 2024, two months early of my goal. It was really fun! I would make some changes to the garment now that I know a smidge more about sewing, taking in the sides a little to reduce the wrinkling and one or two other little things.

I used the Belvedere Waistcoat pattern from Thread Theory because I had only made two other garments before. I sewed the buttonholes by hand according to Vincent Brigg's youtube tutorial. The buttons were horn.

I decided that I would make a garment from this fleece in a year, with the goal to have it done by Rhinebeck 2024. The fleece was 3 lbs, 10 ounces.

I washed the fleece (10/25), combed it (11/11-1/11/24), spun and plyed it (1/24-4/22) and wove it (5/4-6/6)

The Waistcoat: Fleece to Garment in a Year (10 months!)
I received a beautiful mohair fleece from @colleencricket.bsky.social
at Giant Cricket Farm, who raises colored Angora goats, during Rhinebeck 2023. It was from her Angora goat Marla and it was a beautiful tan color.

I did an all makes christmas including the bags the gifts went into. Also included but not shown is my dad's gift which will be bags for ratchet straps but I just made one as a prototype out of a pair of old jeans and will need to check the size while I'm here and then make five more.

also did shortbread, butter has to be really soft but it's all hand work instead of the mixer which I do like in a recipe. I'm going to dip them in chocolate once they cool.

I made rosemary crackers from Baked to Perfection and holy shit they are incredible. I mean, absolutely amazing. I'm going to make so many of them in the future. Easy to double or triple batch since they're made in a food processor and easy to roll out

I can't wait to finish this and show it off, it's a modification of a guernsey from Patterns for Guernseys, Jerseys, and Arans, from a fleece I got at a fiber festival, hand processed, spun, plyed and now knitted
