A filled in feedback form on the CBC website, it reads: What is your feedback regarding: CBC Programming Description: I want it to be known how distressed I am as a citizen of Canada to see our National Public Broadcaster treating the threat of annexation by the United States as the topic of a goddamned call-in show. I can't stress enough how much the topic of tomorrow's planned episode of Checkup makes me doubt that the editorial staff at the CBC have any perspective whatsoever of how serious this topic is, of what your responsibility should be to be as our national broadcaster in informing the public about what this means as a threat to our independence as a nation and our freedom as its people. I want to be clear. I'm sending this message in the afternoon, and I'm aware that attempts have already been made to save face by slightly rephrasing the topic question to sound a bit less like a wilful attempt to sane-wash the threats of an invading generalissimo, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a wildly inappropriate and downright irresponsible topic for the Sunday call-in timefiller hour. You need to cancel this program. If you're desperate to fill the air time maybe you could fill it with any old B-roll you might have about the struggle of the Resistance in France or other Allied powers in WW2, that would seem appropriate.
