A witch who isn't an environmentalist is a fraud in my opinion

If Christianity cannot and refuses to evolve with the times, then it should die out. If Christianity cannot evolve past its "my way or burn" attitude, it should die out. If Christianity cannot evolve past operating out of fear rather than love, it should die out.

In all honesty with how honestly bigoted the church is, and how responsible Christianity is for a lot of today's bigotry, part of me hopes the religion dies out. Part of me wants to see the downfall of the church, the downfall of these institutions which have Forged all of this hate

Like yeah pagan history is also violent and bloody but that's because nature is violent and bloody. Our gods never claim to be all loving. Our myths aren't meant to be taken literally. Our gods, first and foremost, are not hypocritical.

Back to this thread: I understand Christianity helps a lot of people and not every Christian is a shithead. But I genuinely don't understand how anyone could find comfort in something with as bloody and violent of a history while claiming to be a "religion of love"

I'm not saying Christians can't practice magick but like... of all the terms to use why witch? Why not mystic? Why not magician? I honestly think Christians should let us have the fucking word Witch.

I also don't understand how Christian Witches can be a thing. The term witch, in my honest opinion, is inherently incompatible with Christianity. Witches exist as the antithesis and opposition to the oppression caused by the church.

All the harm done in the name of Christianity drives me away from it. I'm not even Christian anymore but growing up I had an immense fear of accidentally worshipping The Devil, an immense fear of angering God. A child should not live in fear like that.

Furthermore. I think the Christian God is cruel. Any God who would cast someone into hell for simply not believing in him is not a God I feel worthy of worship. Any God who claims to be all loving but has an insane history of violence under his belt is a liar. That is NOT all loving.

To expand on this: I feel like many of the things that make Christianity Christianity are harmful. I think the entire concept of original sin and sin in general is a means to instill shame and control the actions of others. Even harmless things are deemed a sin.
