I have no idea what’s happening to me these days. I guess the end of the year is making me overly ambitious for some reason xD I’ve suddenly decided to learn how to draw (alongside blender). Already started working on a planner to ease me into it.

Donut still incomplete ‘cause my CPU just refuses to do Cycles. Too old for renders? I’m afraid it’ll go BOOM! Doesn’t mean I’ve given up on Blender though! Here’s an sc of the low-poly well I’m currently creating following a Grant Abbitt tutorial.

My PC is lagging so baaaaad - my donut won’t render

Switched to Linux from Win7 ^^’. Restarted from 0. Ended up creating a Discord to join Blender Guru’s commmunity ‘cause Alt wouldn’t do its job! (They reply SO FAST! 2 ppl pitched in ASAP) Encountered another issue, which was resolved just as quickly! They’re awesome!!

Uh…I’m not sure if my PC is going to hold on… It froze on me during the tuto! Then it began to lag when it finally resumed responding. Thought it better to stop there ‘cause I don’t want my CPU to go BOOOM!

Is my desire to learn 3D going to remain a mere dream because my CPU is 10 years old??? 😭😭😭

Time for a new tutorial session.

Since I realised I’m bound to forget steps (given the little practice I have), I’m going to finish the entire Donut first for motivation, then do it again both from memory & tutorials, exploring other channels as well. I’ll try to create my own stuff afterward

I DID IT! I’ve finally managed to get the icing done! Had to start the icing from scratch to get here but it was worth it. I’m proud of myself here hehe

(But I realized I’d forgotten most of the previous steps while I was trying to redo it from memory…)

Finally having issues. Seems like I may end up looking for help for a whole other thing now xDD Anyways, I’ll continue this tomorrow. Not giving up just because I can’t get the meshes to work correctly!

Here’s what I managed to create after 30 mins of following Blender Guru’s Pt.2 of the series. I may end up getting discord if I still can’t get Alt + the click to select how he said it should. I’ll try to practice a bit more before reaching out for help. Maybe I’m doing something wrong ^^’

Ended up not having to use my notes in the end

I'll try to do yesterday's tutorial (Part 1 of #Blender Guru's Beginner 4.0 Donut Tutorial) again today, but from memory and the notes I took then.

Hoping to have as much fun during this session as I did then!

Turns out Part 1 was NO doughnut. Yep, stared at the thumbnails, opened 0 tutos, then jumped straight in 'cause I was scared I'd back down before getting a toe wet. I got a surprise!

Here's my 1st ever 3D creation, I guess - a pink cone. Need more practice with the interface.
