It’s an enormous pet peeve of mine for people to label characters that experience psychosis as evil. “Being mentally ill is not an excuse!!” To be frank if you haven’t experienced psychotic/depersonalizing/violently intrusive symptoms you do not get to say this. Lmao. Anyway. Sorry.

Not to mention that when he actually has a moment of lucidity he is completely different. His speech changes entirely after you defeat Neo and he offers you his aid in the form of becoming an inventory item.

Then when he dares to try and change the hand he was dealt he is punished, mocked, and shunned relentlessly for it by everyone around. And he’s evil for wanting the people who fucked him over to suffer because of that? Yeah, okay. Okay.

He’s a being that exists in a world where everyone around him has a distinct purpose and he lives with full recognition that his is to be hated. Like not figuratively, he is a literal spam email, he was coded to be a nuisance and he wants more than that for himself. Can no one read anymore

How can you look at a character that is so obviously experiencing a violent psychotic break due to being deprived of his autonomy and having his body destroyed beyond recognition (which is not even THAT nuanced tbh) and be like “yeah he’s evil and I’m not a dumbass for saying this with confidence”
