Amazing work on the lighting

Pretty sure that discrepancy is the entire point of Joel bringing this up?

Yep, they have nothing of their own, no great art or artists who will champion their insecurities for them, so they have to desperately project them onto whatever sci-fi/fantasy media they consume for validation

Because nazis think that the demons in the show being unable to feel empathy or any kind of emotional connection, but pretending to do so as an allegory for minorities

Ah, a learned-by-osmosis understanding of internet terms

How are “you usually can get woo-woo types to discredit white people doing fake medicine” and “no actually, they are pretty open to fake medicine from white people too” unrelated?
I’ve met a lot of these types, they’re all over the yoga community and I’ve found them more like the latter than former

But that is very directly related to the things he says and does. I’m still gonna have a drink in celebration if IT ever happens, but you can’t convince me him saying “Charlie Kirk might not be saying there’s no such thing as hate speech now” right after he died isn’t funny as fuck

I feel like the reverse is also gonna take place but with the media as they ready to frame her as “principled” and “more measured than we thought” for going against him on this
November 17, 2025 at 12:18 AM
To be fair to you, that has been a thing before, in part from classic sci-fi which helped popularize the hive-mind concept and just called it communism like Heinlein did in Starship Troopers and at least one other book of his I can’t remember

If stopping abortion truly sits at the top of the sin hierarchy, wouldn’t the one line they draw be: it’s not acceptable to get an abortion? Like, we wouldn’t hand wave a family member of ours murdering someone for personal or career reasons right? At least I’d hope not
November 7, 2025 at 6:33 PM
But that reveals another major contradiction which doesn’t fit the hierarchy idea, which is if they truly believe that it’s just mass murder, why is the movement full of politicians and activists that paid for their spouse’s or family member’s abortions? E.g. Mark Robinson, Scott Loyd or Tim Murphy

I’m often skeptical of robotics being applied to disability, given how articles about insanely bulky, expensive, inconvenient exoskeletons being the future keep being written but this does look a lot more practical than most

The media broadly is still obstacle #1, but as an example I’ll cite my own mom who has been an active lifelong dem, poll worker who has even been a strong believer in bi-partisanship for years says to me: “We need new leaders and change in culture; the old norms are gone and no one is going forit.”

outside of the media, who love to report on it, I dont think voters, engaged or otherwise like the infighting itself but I think there is some real desire for a change in who the faces of the party are because imo, this is a not immaterial part of what drives some of the bad polls from dem voters.

Also obviously effectiveness in “fighting trump” would also require a good degree of unity but I think the real issue of fighting for popularity for dems really is the media environment and the blatant double standards they are treated with vs repubs
