You’re making a case based on privilege. The original post said the lost productivity was the problem—I assume that means time. If someone has never learned any of this and needs to put every hour towards their min wage gig, how do they get started on all this?

Now add the time cost of learning all those recipes and appliances, buying all the kitchen gear, etc.

You might be right but the answer to “bread is too expensive” prob can’t just be “let them learn to bake cake.”

2. America’s tech revolution wouldn’t have been possible without high-skill immigrants

Immigration is not zero-sum

This list isn’t anywhere close to complete. It’s also not exaggerated. If you doubt any of this, just ask for citations. Judge for yourself. And every time you get the chance, use this knowledge to vote.

Every. Single. Time.

Please.

They’re a big reason millions of your classmates and kids down the street from you have grown up in poverty, and why they had to go to school hungry every single day.

They’re why our water is toxic and our food is full of chemicals, and why cycles of poverty remain unbroken for generations.

Republicans are the reason massive corporations don’t pay their fair share of taxes.

They’re why those same corporations and CEOs can buy our elections—anonymously if they want.

And they’re why our Supreme Court has lost nearly all public credibility as it strips your rights away.
