Under Paying Jobs UK
@underpayingjobsuk.bsky.social
Raising awareness and shaming UK employers and policy makers that rip off British workers.
I find this Alan Milburn inquiry into youth unemployment massively frustrating.

Either the government are so out of touch they really don't have a clue, or more likely they already know and don't want to do anything about it, and an inquiry delays any changes for another 6 months.

Pension scams are rife at the moment; in my previous role at Hamberly Homes new starters were enrolled into a scheme from day one - schemes they hadn't set up.

Legal and General on behalf of my new employer have claimed I can opt out with the first 36 days - except I can't.

I wake up to an AI update on my phone wiping out my settings and predictive text.

My job is now AI resourced, with more work, more days and less hours.

I look for a new job via AI powered job boards that require a monthly paid subscription.

Welcome to the era of AI turbo powered enshittification.

Digital ID Cards Sir Kier? Rehashing a failed Blarite policy after a disastrous month of failing to sack people, staff quitting, selling the country off to Silicon Valley, and reviving the tory "leveling up" rhetoric as a "progressive fightback".

Out of original ideas and your depth, time to go.

A hand to HMRC as I was personally affected by one these companies this year. However, they investigate the individuals that complain, not the full workforce.

This means there are still many individuals unaware they are affected, please check and share.

Workers rights are now at a sustained systemic violation of rights, mainly from billionaires, governments and companies. This is the same levels as seen in Sierra Leone, Vietnam and Lebanon, and by far the worst in Europe.

UK labour productivity growth from 1970 to 2025 has more than doubled since 1970. It illustrates a steady rise in output per hour worked, with noticeable slowdowns after 2008.

The pandering to the entitled rich, oligarchs, oil states, big business, private equity and lobbyists will continue until the establishments of Parliament, Lords and the Royal family are replaced with a proper democracy and constitution.

But they won't remove themselves.

Starmer doesn't he's the most unpopular prime minister ever because he's promised change, and all they are delivering is the status quo exactly as the tories did.

And peoples response? Vote Reform! This is becoming a repeat of the Brexit pattern of ignorance from a decade ago.

Labour have become a party of the right.

For the good of the country, between 50 and 70 MPs need to cross the floor to the Liberal Democrats.

This will result in a more capable opposition minus the populist values that do not represent the views of the population.

The alternative is fascism.

Because stagnant wages, inequality, brexit, a global pandemic, a cost of living and housing crisis don't have an adverse affect on mental health.

People voted Labour for Change, fully aware the no taxes pledge would have to be broken to pay for it.

With unemployment rising, benefits will be cut to force people into low pay or non-existent jobs while the rich get to keep their stash.

This is not change, this is maintaining the broken order.
