i've worked with many h1b. they don't have special skills. It's a bs lie. A lot of them are funneled through TCS and can barely speak english or communicate. This guy has never worked in tech.

people are focused on all of it. This country is rapidly turning into a feudalist society, where we are competing with how much shit we gonna take from a corp. 2... after all, success is part opportunity. If you guys are making up the vast majority of our tech field, of course you will be the ones with the opportunities in tech. that's not to say an american couldn't have done it as well.

My argument isn't against immigrants. my argument is against massive import of h1b visa holders that lower work standards. If your game is to point to the handful of successful h1b and use it as an argument to flood my country with 100's of thousands of desperate indians, than its sophistry. ....

With all due respect, india is a beautiful country with a deep history, but as a country it is still third world. Food standards are still in the stone age. The idea that people who come from there are more competent than Americans is false. your culture doesn't support innovation in anything. 😂

any force that makes us work longer hours for a corp and expects access to our labor 24/7 is lowering the standards. Do you know any h1b? I've worked with multiple in my career and not one had superior knowledge that we didn't have or couldn't learn. there value was in how you could work them.

but it is also about wages. Look at tesla. it laid off 2400 american workers and hired 2400 h1b holders.

Yeah and every ceo before that h1b visa law was passed was white before 1990. it proves everyone's point - after that law was passed we imported hundreds of thousands of (mostly) indians making them over represented in the tech field. They are imported to lower work standards. full stop

It's not because you are white. The h1b visas come primarily from india because they are desperate to leave india. You are australian, you wouldn't be part of a group that will hurt american workers as culturally i dont think you guys are quite as desperate to leave your country( i think)
