So,
Sitting at my usual haunt along the village stream, and noticed this pottery item eroding out of the bank. Quite a way down in the soil. Not a drain so unlikely to have been sunk into the ground. Any ideas?

My little masonry bee colony. Easy to encourage, a sleeper or piece of wood with some 8mm holes. They come back every year.

Managed a couple of hours out on the beast today… it was pretty chilly. The back lanes of Derbyshire… littered with historical buildings.

So, this is the second time this year the little river in our village has looked like this. By the time the EA get to it, the spill is over (I stood watching it for 15 mins while talking to the EA this morning). We wonder why our rivers are in decline🙄

This is the older of my two collies. She’s nearly 13 and still doing ok. We’ve done so much. Camping trips, long distance footpaths, scrambles and mountains. She’s an old lady now who likes a good kip mostly, and I feel her pending loss in the coming few years. This is life yeah? Love and loss.

Probably the prettiest bike at the show. Lots of Chinese brands now making quality bikes that cost 40% less than the established brands from Europe and Japan. Most of the attendees middle aged guys like me.
