Leaving my thoughts as text images here on this post because I want to be considerate that this discussion may not be something everyone wants to see.
I 100% empathize with you and your family.
I'm sorry to hear she's going through that. My mother was who I took care of, and she was also immobile save for being able to be tranaferred to her wheelchair to sit at the table for meals (unless it was a bad day). She also insisted on pull-ups for a long time, and then we were financially limited and unable to purchase better options for her. It's a really hard thing to watch as a family member, too. I think a big factor in incontinence solutions in elder care is the desire to preserve the patient's sense of autonomy and dignity. I also think a lot of the time, the pullups available in the current age are absolutely not helping with those matters, but in fact making the transition to reliable undergarments more emotionally difficult by means of existing as a "viable" alternative. IMO it's a huge blind spot / thing swept under the rug in day-to-day care of an extremely vulnerable population and it's really disheartening to see.
