My biggest issue with a lot of leftist think pieces is they fall into the same hypocrisy and narcissistic framing you see in conservative media like the Free Press. Moral purity is just civility in reverse. You can’t fight performative empathy with performative outrage and call it justice.

American Jewish life keeps getting flattened: place Israel on a pedestal or on the pyre. Meanwhile in Israel, a quarter of the country can strike against fascism together. I wish we had more of that kind of energy here.
