I still rank things from time to time - of course I do - but it lacks the overly self-serious quality I used to apply to criticism, and I feel like I'm a lot happier watching movies as a result.

To me, the best question you can ask yourself with film in a critical analysis is: "Was that film 'for me'?"

It's a judgment call only you can make, and it makes you reckon with whether or not you enjoyed it, but it also makes you reckon with why you're on one side or the other.

Not only Venezuelan oil, but it ingratiates the US with Guyana, who had the largest oil finds of the 2010s in their international waters - oil finds Venezuela wants. My guess is the play is to position Guyana as an analogue for Kuwait in the 1980s

I've had my concerns for a few seasons based on availability, but he typically answered those concerns with above average-to-legitimately great netminding. But it really feels like he's lost his fastball over the last year. Maybe not time to hang it up, but his greatest value may now be as a backup.
