We must combat the pervasive, plutocratic influence of Elon Musk. He holds citizenship in three countries -- South Africa, Canada and the US, so his influence is worldwide. I always do my best to share good things out here. Today I've just been flat out angry. What has happened in our lives in recent days makes me wonder: Why do so many folks just not give a damn anymore?

As painful as it seems, people should understand what America faces right now. It's a repeat-plus from the first time this mistake was made. Stay aware. WRITE YOUR REPS when you need to; they listen, even if it seems that nothing is being done. And look out for each other. It's what we do.

Every day at the railroad tracks, I'd sneak down often as I could. Trains came by four times a day like clockwork. I'd feel its vibration under my feet. I'd count the cars... Hello all! The holidays are slowing me down a bit, but I'm still here. Saw this and thought I'd share with football fans.

Just remembering that today is the anniversary of my move to Chicago. Smartest thing I ever did, as it turned out.

One of the great books I've read in recent years, JAMES by Percival Everett, just won the National Book Award for fiction. It tells the eloquent and painful story of the runaway slave Jim, Huck's friend in the Mark Twain classic THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN. Eloquent. Painful. Fabulous book!
