Just 0.2 to break the record? Come on snow you can do it! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️

It is madness. In the past decade I’ve reported many cases and only one has actually resulted in them ripping it up. Most simply ignore it/pay the fines. I guess they see it as the cost of parking.

It certainly felt like it was trying to make up for some of the recent dry weather. Got totally soaked walking the kids to the bus and school despite having an umbrella and raincoat ☔️

I broke down and bought one a few years ago and must say it is a really nice chair. Well worth it if you spend a lot of time sitting. What I didn’t realize until then was how customizable they are. You can get them in versions that are small/short/tall/big/etc… really makes a difference.

In much the same way I used to use notepad for basic text stuff because it didn’t have any fluff but recently they’ve been doing their best to make it unusable as well. How they manage to break notepad is beyond me but of course each time they do it takes them 6-12 months to fix it. Sigh.

Yes Excel can do some amazing things these days but I often feel like people use it because it is a Swiss Army knife and “can” do it rather than because it is really the right tool for the job.

The rest do feel like they probably reached their peaks somewhere 5–10 years ago.

MacOS is a bit of a mess. They could learn some lessons from MS but are probably too proud to do so. They do a lot of things well but the experience is very inconsistent. Their AI stuff certainly feels like a gimmick as opposed to a useful feature but it is still early days for that.
July 12, 2025 at 4:43 PM
Windows definitely feels like it has been mainly dumbing down the experience rather than adding useful features. In general I would say it peaked around XP. They have added a few details from MacOS which have been good but overall not much of substance.

Photoshop has added a lot of “AI” features. Some of which I think are actually useful. Smart selection and replacement certainly save time.

Excel has seen a slow but steady improvement in its ability to handle complex formulas and data from different sources. You can now write sql queries to retrieve data. Much more powerful than it was only a few years ago. As to if this a good thing that’s a whole different question…

And July is doing its best to make up for it 😂

Could feel the nose hairs freezing when I stepped outside this morning.
March 3, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Yikes! How does that make sense?
February 25, 2025 at 7:54 PM
I mean honestly it probably ought to be required for all MPs and certainly party leaders.
February 25, 2025 at 6:29 PM
I’ve never understood why this isn’t part of the routine process. How can you be PM and not have security clearance?
February 25, 2025 at 6:27 PM
😱
February 9, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Ah I see. That makes sense. Well then that really is impressive. Any idea what specifically to look for in a HP to identify its capabilities in cold weather? I know a lot of people end up with one that doesn’t cut it and clearly some are more capable than others.
January 22, 2025 at 5:37 PM
That’s very impressive. Looks like it was just starting to slip at the very coldest point but only by a tiny bit.
January 22, 2025 at 2:27 PM
I really don’t understand how this kind of thing is seen as acceptable let alone a good move politically. It is disgraceful. Politicians seem to be more interested in name calling than working together to build consensus.
January 6, 2025 at 6:09 PM
I’ve found the ever increasing name calling, general lack of respect, and yes hatred by all parties deeply troubling and completely inappropriate. How is it that anyone feels this kind of behaviour is acceptable?
January 6, 2025 at 6:54 AM
There is probably a line somewhere. In general most updates people make other than paint don’t result in making more money on the sale than was spent on the updates. But there are of course exceptions. Updates may however improve the odds of selling faster.
January 4, 2025 at 7:25 PM
The trend here is deeply troubling.

That’s kind of funny given how often it works the other way.
