Even series that did include crime were much broader in their scope - "Public Eye", for example. So, yes, I think the scope of drama has become narrower.

I made a comment on another post regarding the fact that in the past it was possible to make a series set in a foreign land that didn't include a murder every week i.e. "The Lotus Eaters"

There was atime when you could tell interesting stories, in a foreign location, about ex-pats without a murder every week - "The Lotus Eaters" springs to mind.

Nice review of my biographies, but it should be noted that J.P.Martin was merely a very good chronicler of my many great adventures. I try very hard to ignore the despicable actions of the Badfort Crowd but sometimes one is forced to deal them a good kicking up

I once was forced to borrow a bicycle at University in order to attend an examination - this has often been held against me by Te Badfort Crowd despite the fact that when I became wealthy I recompensed the owner beyond his wildest dreams.
