I like bikes. Mostly ones with engines.
Oh wait, that's wiring for the switch?

Only tricky if you want the solution to be anything other than buying a new cable.

We have that. Read the packaging. If it says "NOT FOR ROAD USE," don't use it without being a "hyper niche obsessive hobbyist."

Correct. They are also, especially on older bikes, not especially high power.

I'm really glad to hear that.

Possibly. I definitely don't have more confidence in people to know what they're doing I just think they SHOULD and hate the idea that what I can do to my vehicle should be hindered by someone else's unwillingness or inability to learn about theirs.

Because it's just a lightbulb. It clicks into place. I don't know what to tell you. Do you want them to have, like, a puzzle box you have to solve before you can open the package?

I do not have LEDs on my car (although I do think I'm going to get tail lights simply to replicate your experiment for my own sake) but I do have them on a motorcycle, specifically tail lights and blinkers where they do function better than the stock bulbs with a charging system from the 80's.

I'll concede that point for a reason you probably won't like: The fewer ignorant people using sub-par products incorrectly means it is less likely the "for offroad use," aspect sees more enforcement on people who know what they're doing but are technically breaking the law.

Not being snarky but I wouldn't classify it as "hard work," so much as just "more than the raw bare minimum."
October 4, 2025 at 6:01 PM
There we disagree.

I think people should be bullied into actually paying attention and researching what they buy, ESPECIALLY when it comes to their vehicle.
October 4, 2025 at 5:53 PM
Hey man, motorcycle electrical systems are usually lower power and their batteries small. 🤷‍♂️🤣

I totally understand, I just think that specific test was a little flawed, though I also understand it being aimed at the lowest-common denominator of purchaser.
October 4, 2025 at 5:47 PM
The video basically says "if you use this wrong it doesn't work as good," which...Yeah?

The problem isn't LED bulbs because they ALSO make clear incandescents that fit those sockets. The problem is that people are lazy and/or ignorant.
October 4, 2025 at 5:19 PM
I think you're letting the end user shirk responsibility. The package he showed says they aren't "road legal" on the front and clearly. People not bothering to read is also not the product's fault. Also, it's just a light bulb. The average person should ABSOLUTELY be able to install it themselves.
October 4, 2025 at 4:51 PM
"they are going above and beyond and most people just aren't."

Wouldn't that mean the problem isn't with a type of product, but people using it incorrectly by either ignorance or laziness?

A white bulb is not a worse bulb behind a taillight, it's the WRONG bulb behind a taillight.

It is very, very active. The bike is definitely not running like it did from the factory but is still batshit crazy from 6k to redline.

TRASH MPG though, like, even for a VMAX...Working on it lol.
