Yes, technically they mean the same thing, falsehood, untruth, etc. just sounds like we're trying to be polite about it and soften the blow. Maybe it's just me, but a person who lies is a liar, and person who tells falsehoods is a... falsehooder?

Can we please stop using the word "falsehood" and other euphemisms? They're lies. It's lying. Just say lying.

We have been told no purchases for 30 days beyond those exceptions above.

Here is what is being lost:
-maintenance of critical infrastructure (e.g., water systems, dams, facilities, security features) that requires tools or supplies.
-payment for training for employees.
-heavy equipment repair.

That's a good analogy for the Washington Post
