So you are suggesting Vatican 2 is based on the Reformation principle of ad fontes? Not as in actually, that you are saying it’s not massively different, in that V2 is an attempt to return to a more biblical approach?

I’m not steering the conversation to any specific individual. The claim was “that didn’t happen” (paraphrase mine), and my reply was to say here are two examples where that happened.

My point is not only do not all RCs ascribe to Vatican 2, but that it (V2) is not representative of RC dogma proper. Especially when it comes to the conversation about Bible translation and tolerance.

Why would you steer the conversation toward specific individuals who were trying to translate the Bible for the people rather than what it was the RCC was doing to them? Should those who sought to put God’s Word into the common languages have been killed?

Right, if I’m not docile and submissive I’m not engaging in “good faith”……. I’m listening to what he has to say and am open for correction, but I’m not going to roll over.

Of course it is, why else would the RCC kill people for translating Scripture into the common vernacular? That IS your tradition, not mine, my guys were the ones being hunted and killed for suggesting all people should have access to God’s Word.

Pretty much. Zelenskyy was ready to call it quits after the first week or so, but the US along with NATO basically said, “No, you fight and we will have your back”.
