Gonna have to make a comparison matrix with all the viable alternatives, so I can switch before my next payment at the end of the month. I guess it's fitting that I'll most likely use Proton Sheets for the comparison, since I'm testing that as a replacement for Google.

The doc ends by summarizing where the interviewed subjects are now. One was trying to rebuild his career after sexual assault allegations. Another died in 2020 from COVID. *sigh*

My initial viewing was interrupted, and I just got a chance to finish this weekend. This gave me some much-needed context for some other things I've read/seen about Techno. Now, I can go back and reread/rewatch and have a better understanding of what they were talking about.

I'll share the 3 links in the next few posts in case someone's interested. They’re all about misrepresentation of Black music (especially the contributions of Black women). Fittingly, they all speak to the importance of preserving history and making sure the archives are in the right hands.

It feels good to be able to a) save information and know that if it ever disappears from the internet, I can still find it in my local files even if they aren’t the most organized and b) make connections between the things I’m reading and learning about even when there are several years in between.

Then I was able to save a PDF copy, highlight it, and file it with my markdown notes in Obsidian. Later, I revisited the blog that reminded me of the article and found a new post on a related topic, so I saved that one too, and I can add wiki-links to my notes to connect all my thoughts.

That post reminded me of an 11 year old article, which I was able to find via a link in a tweet that I saved as a PDF. The article was from the NYT, which I'm boycotting, so I used an archive link to read it. Unfortunately, I had to return to the original to get all the embedded media, though.
