@crkd.gg I recently bought a Nitro Deck + and it makes playing the switch so much better in handheld mode. I love it so far. It’s comfortable for hours of gaming. It has some weight, but it never feels heavy in my hands.

It’s one of the reasons why actual faces are used to animate. It’s easier to match the expressions on the “same” face rather than applying the expressions to a “different” face.

It is also important to remember that graphics in a game and what looks good is subjective. Hyper realism doesn’t necessarily mean better than cartoon style. It also doesn’t necessarily portray difficulty of animation. In some cases hyper realism is easier because you can work off a real image.

Based on the criticisms Astrobot received, it would make it nearly impossible for Nintendo to ever release a game that would beat out PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X games if graphics were a major reason for a game to win GoTY.

I also think people forget how popular the Nintendo Switch is. Astrobot is a game that if it didn’t have PlayStation IPs, could easily have fit in the Nintendo world based on graphics and its gameplay/genre. It’s family friendly and a cute, fun game.

Astrobot winning GoTY has the potential to change the gaming landscape more than a AAA action adventure game. Not that those games do something bad/wrong but they are more constrained to a more formulaic style because of the massive budgets. For example you typically see hyper realistic graphics

Based on what wasn’t announced at the Game Awards, I think 2026 is going to be a big year.
This year had some nice surprises which certainly made the backlog grow. So many excellent games.

I think Astrobot is one of the most innovative games created for that reason. I remember being in awe when Xbox came out with Kinect Sports and when Wii bowling came out. Those just felt like game changers in how people interacted with games. It was a tactile immersion that you didn’t normally get.

I would have liked to have seen Final Fantasy win more awards, but Metaphor Refantazio has been excellent so far. The medieval setting works really well. And astrobot- no surprises there. It’s such an interesting experience with how well the developers use the controller to convey visual textures.

Any recommendations for a decent webcam for meetings and maybe also for content creation in the future? Are the combo with lights any good or is buying the lights separate a better idea?

Lollipop Chainsaw rePop is more fun than I remember. I kept my original game because there was something I really liked about it, but I don’t remember if it was the humor. I don’t know why I’m surprised. I love zombie stuff.

It is ALWAYS okay to:

- Play a game on any difficulty setting
- Jump between games depending on what you're in the mood for
- Finish playing a game and moving on when you just don't feel like continuing.
- Enjoy games that no one else likes

Play how you want to play and have fun. That's it.

Sampling two games so far between GT7 and Kayak VR and I’m very impressed. I definitely want to explore these two games further. If anyone has recommendations for Ps VR2 games, let me know.

I remember feeling a little queasy with the VR. I haven’t felt nauseous with the VR2, but I have had that feeling like when you move really fast in a car or swing and you feel a shudder. That happens IRL for me so I feel like the VR2 will have a much shorter acclimation period.

When I used the PS VR, I was most impressed with astro bot. I thought I’d love Iron Man and flying, but didn’t play much with the VR. The VR2 already feels like a system I’d use a lot more than its predecessor. GT7 has been incredible so far. It is wild looking around the car like you are in it.

It’s funny that Jill Valentine is ultimately Umbrella Corps’ perfect specimen. Umbrella promised youthful complexion with their products. They actually achieved their goal.

I really, really want to see Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine in a game together. I liked what Death Island did in terms of bringing characters together, but want to see more. I want one of them to be working on a case and contact the other for assistance with it.

Resident Evil has the reboots, but I wish they didn’t age the characters so much. Granted, Jill is an exception. I would have liked to see more other missions. Otherwise, it feels like they took 10 years off at a time and now it’s like “where do we go from here?”.
