Oh yeah. I’ve thought for years that our entire industry needs to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN and focus on quality and correctness, but that falls on deaf management ears.

In complete transparency, I started calling myself a software engineer instead of a programmer or developer because in my 20s, I read a study that salaries for 'Software Engineer' were notably higher despite being the same job. And sure, no reason to not embrace that!

They talked about it when they were on Colbert a few weeks back, apparantly there are a few parts of the dialogue that just work better if you pronounce it that way. I’m sure the interview is trivially easy to find, and I’ll never explain it as well.

There’s a reason I don’t read these. I appreciate that they exist because of the old, old joke about people who only buy Marvel comics at the shop being called Marvel Zombies for decades, but beyond that, well, they’re for someone else.
