Side quest is to find an adventuring party that went missing looking for an adventuring party that went missing looking for an adventuring party. Plot twist, all the parties are your party at different times that they may or may not actually do.

And I need a fresh perspective. Does that idea sound too complicated? I want the danger of potential, but I don't want to bog it down. Any thoughts?

Every cast of a spell or use of magical items has a >0 chance of causing a wild magic surge regardless of class. The chances increase or decrease depending on factors like emotional state, environment, and amount of magic"in the air."
