Global Sumud Flotilla is 'nonviolent' and sailing in international waters, MEE reporter says
The global Sumud Flotilla is a nonviolent and sailors have undergone "important" training to showcase that in case they are attacked by Israel, Mathilda Mallinson, an MEE journalist said.
Mallinson said that Israel is waging psychological warfare against the sailors of the Flotilla, including blasting music in advance of attacking the vessels.
The flotilla, Mallinson noted, is sailing in international waters and any Israeli attempt to attack it would be considered an act of piracy under international law.
Territorial waters extend to 12 nautical miles.
Gaza is currently under an illegal Israeli blockade.
