As I write this, w are losing rockstar scientists at the NIH. These are tenured, highly productive, cutting edge innovators who cannot be replaced.

I am sure that Trump knows that ~30% of the Columbia students are Jewish, right?
And I am sure that he used a scalpel and not a chainsaw to be sure that these cuts did not hurt the population he says he is trying to protect, right?

My biggest worry about the MAGA takeover of the NIH is that they will only fund research they decide is "important".
Would they fund the study of lizards that led to the discovery of GLP-1 (Ozempic, etc)?
What about fruit fly research that led to the discovery of the innate immune system?
