Ex-Michigan linebacker named 'Golden Bachelor' for Season 2
Former Michigan linebacker Mel Owens, a native of Detroit, is the new bachelor in “The Golden Bachelor” show.
ABC announced Owens, 66, on Tuesday.
Owens played at Michigan from 1977-1980 and finished his career with 125 tackles and three interceptions. He was first team All-Big Ten in 1980. He was the ninth overall selection in the 1981 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams.
After a nine-year NFL career, Owens retired and became a lawyer.
The first season of The Golden Bachelor (2023) was a successful venture for ABC. The premiere date for this new season featuring Owens has not yet been announced.
