A highlight of our travels in Japan. A conversation on the state of youth sports with whip-smart sport science students at Chukyo University near Nagoya. Sportsmanship, early specialization, high school NIL and more. Grateful for the invitation (and translation services) to Professor Nori Ishido!

When we began shooting our #China #Baseball documentary, we imagined screening the film in #Beijing. Last week, the moment arrived. Grateful to share a 5-minute reel with Chinese, American scholars at Communication University of China. The work continues with Jeff Barker and Ken Eng!

Is there any focus now that is not laser-focused?
This "thanks, but no thanks" delivered from Atlanta is the part that interested me most.

"We are laser-focused on growing direct relationships with customers,” said Andrew Morse, the publisher of The Journal-Constitution “We think scale is yesterday’s war.”
"The Washington Post Plans an Influx of Outside Opinion Writers. A new program, known internally as Ripple, would open The Post to journalists at other publications and influential writers on Substack." www.nytimes.com/2025/06/03/b...

What do you think?

A few decades worth of beat writers showed up in April 2024 when the Orioles named Camden Yards press box for Jim Henneman. Jim died last night. A legend and a friend. RIP Henny.
