Owning the results of their cuts - owning the bankruptcy and death - would not be bravery. It would be profoundly stupid. Political suicide for many in the House and Senate.
Bravery/cowardice only applies to admitting those cuts were wrong, or not admitting it.

...and who could actually remove the filibuster and get exactly what they want...
...of course, they would then clearly own the results, which aren't going to be good.

Technically, originally said by Frodo, "the Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make: not real new things of its own. I don't think it gave life to Orcs, it only ruined them and twisted them."

That's not quite accurate anymore.
Per PBS survey earlier this month, 67% of Republicans want the files released. We don't need a full defection - the President is so underwater on opinion polls he can't support losing pretty much anything anymore.

GOP leadership may not care, but constituents still do.
However far down the road they are, it isn't far enough to continue without their base holding out for them.

Those wars were when the population of the US was about 2.5 million and 31 million, respectively.
Today, the population is about 340 million.
Also, those wars were before examples of becoming non-violently ungovernable were established by Ghandi and King.

Yeah. In Boston, the spread of age representation was remarkable. But, we have so many universities in session now, with all those students who could just hop on the T and be at the rally.

But, it isn't just one, is it? It is some of each. Meaning, yes, some folks are effectively victims of propaganda, but others are actually bad.
And, me, random Joe, cannot tell them apart, and can't do anything about it if I could. We can't make the deep connection to bring them back.

So, with respect, the playbook is for *PEACEFUL* protest. If protesters get violent, they should expect legal repercussions from any government.
By report, Boston isn't stretching the definition of violence. You get into a brawl, there will be consequences.
