this specific picture makes it painfully obvious, i want to study it again now... I guess my main mistake was to study from a picture reference rather than going to see the original during the study (it was made over the course of 2 weeks..)

First iteration of the study was with way less contrast, i find it striking now, I'm not sure what i was trying to do. I still find it intersting on its own, but in comparison to the original... (I mean that's not only the palette's fault :D )
