ECE alum Eric Swanson ‘82, is among the 2025 class of National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees. In partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the NIHF will honor this class on May 8.

Claire Walko, a senior chemical engineering major, won the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 2024 Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium. Her research focuses on resolving the environmental issues surrounding the production of ammonia.

A new study has mapped 35 years of river changes on a global scale. “We think this is maybe the most accurate map of river flow ever made,” notes co-author Colin Gleason, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at UMass Amherst.
