Finally had my first W in #LegendBowl. (Outside of Coach Mode) This game can be pretty tough, but once I started grokking the basic ideas of how to actually call plays, I ended up being able to lock in pretty well.

I think of all the transformations we ever got in the post-Z era, Super Saiyan 4 is my all-time favorite. Again, it follows the pattern of distinguishing not just by color, but by shape, calling back to how Saiyans first looked to give us this feral-as-hell form 🧵(16/17)

By contrast, I love Potential Unleashed and Orange Piccolo to death. On top of being a Full Circle moment for Piccolo (especially if you read the Manga for the context behind the Dragon Balls' creation and the quest for them), it follows KISS beautifully though color AND shape 🧵(14/17)

And now we come to the offender that a lot of people agree sucks: Beast/Final Gohan. While the aura is great, this form arguably combines the worst aspects of Complete Ultra Instinct and SSJ3, but also tries to emulate Gohan's more iconic SSJ2 look, and the sum is just worse overall. 🧵(13/17)

Another fantastic set of forms are those of DBS!Broly! Again, keeping with the KISS philosophy, Wrathful Broly allows for Broly's bulk and presence to carry the power of the form, accented by his distinct aura. Super Broly doesn't change all that much besides the hair, keeping it simpler.🧵(11/17)

Apparently Toyotaro and/or Toriyama agreed, and later gave us True Ultra Instinct, which on top of giving it narrative significance by having Goku work to create a version of the technique that better fit his mindset, acting as the best of both worlds in both aesthetic and power. 🧵(9/17)

But then they had to go and do the "Use colors to make it more distinct" thing again, and we got arguably the ugliest transformation Goku ever got in Complete Ultra Instinct. While it still retains the "less is more" aspect, the color shift just brings the whole thing down for me 🧵(8/17)

One area where they fumbled and later retrieved the bag, however, is the Ultra transformations. I will die on the hill that Ultra Instinct Omen is the single coolest transformation Goku has even gotten in Super, because it remembers the "less is more" principle that Toriyama swore by. 🧵(7/17)

I could mention SSBEvo, but frankly it's such a nothingburger of a form that it isn't worth talking about. It's just a fancier version of SSB with a different particle effect and a slight hue shift.🧵 (6/17)

While Golden Freeza is arguably just as guilty, both it and the later Black Freeza transformations are explicitly explained to be a result of Freeza going out of his way to train, with the latter of the two being a result of him using the Hyperbolic Time Chamber 🧵(5/17)
