Reform UK chairman resigns.

Says "I no longer believe working to get a Reform government elected is a good use of my time, and hereby resign the office."

Will others wake up?

Farage policies disastrous, divisive, uncosted; anti worker, public services; will say anything to get elected.
Zia Yusuf: Chairman of Reform UK resigns
The unelected chair of the party stood down from his role in the party, following a row in which he called a question from a Reform MP about banning burkas "dumb".

Trump backpeddling

He announced 90-day pause on tariffs for most countries except China.

China has 145% tariffs, now Trump says "it will come down substantially but it won’t be zero”.

Reality hitting home as US businesses face the squeeze or is it all about his moods?

Can't trust Trump.

"Only 5% of people with ADHD who attend university graduate with a degree."
Higher education is simply not functional if you have ADHD. Even worse, people do not see ADHD as a disability; rather as a lack of focus, rather than the debilitating dopamine deficiency disorder it is.

UK economy loses £118bn a year to poor mental health.

Causes ignored - anxiety, insecurity, low incomes, high cost of living, poor housing, perinatal depression, bullying, social isolation of people.

Cutting benefits, bashing people is not the answer.
Poor mental health costs £118bn. Benefit cuts are not the answer
The Mental Health Foundation argues that the cost of cutting disability benefits will be greater than the savings.

Regressive National Insurance (NI).

UK employees pay 8% NI on incomes between £12,570 & £50,270.

2% above that.

Rich pay a lower proportion of income in NI.

Govt can charge higher rates in incomes above £100k, £150k, etc. Collect £bns.

No need for austerity. Tax the rich.

UK public debt £2.8trn, 96% of GDP.

It includes about $700bn of quantitative easing. Is it debt? By excluding QE, debt is 70%-75% of GDP.

Post-war reconstruction based on debt, 270% of GDP.

Govt can borrow more to invest.

Govt borrowing cheaper than PFI.

Why won't the govt borrow?

1m people to have disability benefits cut by UK Labour govt.

This is wrong. There are numerous alternatives. But Chancellor refuses to inconvenience the rich.

Doesn't address causes - lack of healthcare, poverty, poor housing.

Must lead to rebellion in parliament.

The government needs to focus on fighting inequality.

No wonder the NHS is struggling. Pay in the UK has not kept up with inflation, leaving people worse off. People cannot focus on their physical and mental well-being, when they have money problems.
