They do it everywhere, it's in the playbook. Far right, radical right and center-right here in the Netherlands always blame the 'radical left' for the policies and laws. But the last time we had a left government was... wait for it... in 1977!

Well, I tend to get very frustrated and angry the longer such a conversation runs, so I bear some of the blame too, surely. 😁 Oh well. The earth continues its travel around the sun.

Tell those Stanford people that they should maybe focus more on not getting a fascist dictatorship and less on gaslighting everyone else.

Oh really? In that case I will simply put an end to your drivel by outright blocking you. Because I don't take kindly to spammers endlessly repeating their posts. Goodbye.

That's BS. When curtailment or negative prices hit hard, building new renewables becomes unprofitable. We already see that right here in the Netherlands, the current world champion in residential solar. An equilibrium between storage and supply will be found, or investments in RE will slow or stop.
November 16, 2025 at 12:08 AM
That's idiotic. But it nicely underlines your absurd rants that you think a study from 2017 is still applicable now. Time stood still huh?

And I will now ignore you until dawn, or another moment at my convenience!

Oh nice, we entered a circle now!

Dude, that is coming from the 𝑼.𝑺. 𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒚(!) That's akin to like been dictated by Big Oil. And it is EIGHT YEARS OLD!! From Sept 2017 ! That's antique, in terms of renewable energy strategies.
November 16, 2025 at 12:00 AM
Hate to bring you bad news: all of that is prone to move to regions where energy is cheapest. So you do the math...
November 15, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Well, scientists disagree with you. And I'm done with this useless conversation.

Untrue, in fact the best solution are batteries, especially with falling cost. We've been here already. this is a repeat of earlier posts. Did you even take a look at my 5-step plan? What part isn't clear to you?
November 15, 2025 at 11:43 PM
Nope, but I'm growing tired of this useless back-and-forth. Neither of us will change their view. This conversation is dead.

Winter storage will only be a requirement for poor sods like us in Europe, and large parts of North America. But China, Africa, Brazil, Australia, Indonesia will not need it, or very little of it. So it's a localized problem. And I think, as I already said, that H2 will only play a niche role.

First of all, every country that is close* to the equator doesn't need an energy storage for winter, because they 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓. To get 24/365 energy all they need are solar panels and batteries to go through the night. That's it. No wind, no hydrogen, no other storage.

*Well, relative speaking
November 15, 2025 at 11:33 PM
Yeah, see my 5-step plan I posted for how that's gonna work out.

(And yes, blue hydrogen is a waste of time, but the point is that Shell rejected 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒔. And green hydrogen is 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈, business-wise)

Sure, if they manage to compress it to 1200 bars and find a spot for that HUGE scuba tank holding it. 😁

4. Now that prices go up again and curtailment is limited, more renewable energy systems will get financed and be installed, creating more and more energy.
5. Goto 2. and wash, rinse, repeat...
