I always thought that it was a brave and daring choice for the writers (Jim Thomas & John Thomas) and director (Stuart Baird) to kill off Steven Seagal’s character so early in the 1996 film Executive Decision. Seagal’s career was already in a downward spiral, but to kill off his character less than 1/3 of the way into the film’s runtime was shocking. It looks like this was not a creative choice, but a business choice by WB after Seagal’s recent movies were a series of expensive flops.

The Yautja are a bunch of cheaters and fight unfairly. If they were really going to different planets looking for a challenge, then turn off the invisibility cloak and fight like a real warrior. Let it be about the skill of battle, not the technology. Lose the Harry Potter Cloak of Invisibility and fight like a Muggle! Bring it Yautja! Not to mention, the Yautja are a bunch of sore losers.

This is my 40’ish year old Micro Adventure no.1 Space Attack book written by Elieen Buckholtz and Ruth Glick that my mom found in a box in my parent’s garage. This book got my nine year old self into computers and computer programming. I read this book and, because I didn’t have a computer at home, went to the local library and used the Apple IIe there to type and run the BASIC programs.

Back in 2020, I grabbed by Sony a7 II and walked partially up Silver Creek Valley Road – up to the Silver Creek Valley Country Club gateway and then turned back. This morning, I wanted to do the walk again, but go all the way up the hill and then come back – after the gateway, it gets really steep and I wanted to walk that too. So, at 8:30AM, I grabbed my Sony a7RV with a Sony 24-50mm f/2.

This is a concert movie for M. Night Shyamalan’s daughter that happens to have a nonsensical thriller tacked on.

Could the next Mission: Impossible film be the last of the long running series? It almost seems so with the trailer for the eighth film titled The Final Reckoning. The Final Reckoning is rumored to have a budget approaching $400 million because of production delays. The previous film, Dead Reckoning - Part One (now known as Dead Reckoning) was not a dud, but did not perform well. I thought the movie was fine, but felt a bit old and stale — recycling from other Mission: Impossible films over the last almost 30 years.

My God, it’s full of stars.

My son was seven when John Wick was originally released in theaters. At that time, I didn’t know what the movie was and sadly didn’t catch it on the big screen. I have seen all the follow up movies on the big screen, but I love the first film the most and always wanted to. Thank goodness the film is getting a limited re-release on the big screen for its 10th anniversary!

I picked up a new camera that is an upgrade from my Sony a7II that I got during the pandenmic to take pictures when the world came to a halt. I wanted a smaller (slight) camera body with an upgraded sensor (61MP). I also wanted to have the new AI driven autofocus which is stupid fast. I was looking at different smaller cameras to use as a travel camera.

I just bought a Ringconn to track fitness and activity on top of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and a Whoop band that I already have. The Whoop is for sleep and recovery, but it really doesn’t expose much for daily fitness activity. And while Whoop does populate Apple Health with metrics like Blood Oxygen, Respiratory Rate, Resting Heart Rate and Sleep – these are only sent to Apple Health once at the start of the morning based on the metrics being tracked during sleep.

I just finished running my 10,000th mile! It took 11 years — seven of those years were a streak where I ran at least a mile per day.
