I used to get the best recommendations for books from my highschool librarian. She saw I was reading 1984 and we talked extensively about banned books. It was enlightening.

in 1981, Reagan announced that the US was going to convert from a manufacturing economy to a service economy. I was a teenager, but even I knew what that meant. We wouldn't make anything. We'd just buy and sell and trade money around. Our economy would just be pretend.
