2/2/ It's a newsletter mainly for journalists and newsroom leaders. Those English are well-known in Germany. It would sound weird to use German words that nobody in the industry actually uses. I fact, my translation tool DeepL often translates too much and then I have to translate those words back.

I hope you’re right @simonowens.bsky.social but I believe before that happens, a lot more people will have to experience deep pain themselves, because they clearly don’t care what’s happening to others.

It might not have been the @washingtonpost.com ‘s first choice to let @davejorgenson.bsky.social post on his own channel, but I think he has all the leverage here. He already has enough followers to be a brand on his own.

At least he chose a suitable background color for his message to the world. Democracy dies in darkness and so does the @washingtonpost.com .
