We need to think reconnection of former sidearms much bigger. This is an example from mid 1990s when the oxbow has been „opened“ again to the Danube, east of Vienna. The difference bw Danube and side-arm is 3m. It should be minimal.

And we planted more than 1,000 native poplars and willows today. In total about 9,000 this season, at the banks of Vjosa in Tepelena.

Today, the interest in the first project to reforest the Vjosa, was enormous. We explained why and how we do it. Way to go in next 10 years and more.

Today we presented the ReForestVjosa project in Tepelena, Albania. And more than 50 people planted for the new vision.

Yesterday evening in Vienna: a wonderful concert of Darko Rundek and his Ekipa. Last summer they gave a concert at Una river to successfully support the protest against a dam project.

The Vjosa in Albania is a near natural river, but what is severly missing is forest in the basin. We start changing this. Next week, on the International Day of Forests, we present the 1st reforestation project in the Vjosa basin. Real pioneering work. Join if you can and plant a tree yourself.

I just discovered this today. Newly built, scandalous „bank protection“ at the Shushica, inside the Vjosa Wild River National Park. This is illegal and has to be removed.
